Support TFO's Mission
TFO Sparking Scholars is a dynamic afterschool tutoring services dedicated to assisting students performing below grade level in Math and Reading. Our mission is to empower young scholars to reach their full potential through personalized, high-quality tutoring in a supportive and nurturing environment. Not only do we focus on academic success, but we work with students to build confidence as well.
Our tutoring services are available for all 3rd-8th graders, not just participants in our afterschool STEAM/e programs. We offer tutoring several days a week, providing a consistent and reliable afterschool resource for families.
Private and Small-Group Tutoring
We offer both in-person and online services to accommodate different learning preferences, in both private and small group settings. This way, each student can engage with the material in a way that best suits them. Lessons are interactive, hands-on, and carefully paced to promote mastery and learning.
Specialized Tutoring
Our tutors are trained to recognize and adapt to each student’s unique learning style, setting clear expectations for each session. After an initial assessment, tutors prepare individualized lesson plans that target areas for improvement. With deep expertise in core subjects like Science, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Math, our tutors provide focused instruction to help students overcome learning obstacles and improve their grades.
Active Student Learning
We divide participants into two groups: 3rd-5th graders and 6th-8th graders, which allows instructors to better meet students at their learning level. We prioritize actively engaging students in the learning process, ensuring that they are fully grasping the class material. We continuously seek feedback from students, parents, and tutors; and use their input to improve our services.
