At our summer camp, students will not only participate in STEM activities but also learn to evaluate their own performance accurately. This self-assessment, coupled with the setting of short-term and long-term goals, will help them visualize their future selves. Our core values and guiding principles instill the belief that learning is an active process, empowering our members to take charge of their own learning journey.

Another expected outcome for the summer camp is to guide our members in clearly understanding their expectations from the program. TFO’s activities engage the members to explore new passions in STEM. We provide weekly guest speakers who share their backgrounds and reasons for choosing their career paths. They also share the strengths and challenges they have overcome to be in the position they are in today. Our field trips provide our members with exposure to a wide range of career options in the STEM fields that they would not have had the opportunity to know existed.

We introduce our members to STEAM/e through entry-level STEM activities. We begin with the Engineering Design Process, which includes assembling, coding, and operating Lego robots and Tello drones. Our members are asked to explore their interests, and the coaches link them to potential career options in the STEAM/e fields. Our guest speakers play an important role in sharing their interests.
